SOLAR ACCESS PROGRAM

THE SOLAR ACCES PROGRAM (SAP) aims to empower individuals, families and communities...

By providing them access to electricity and basic durable consumables through sustained developmental services. The goal is to establish lasting and self-sustaining partnership arrangements with like-minded organizations to ensure that HSSi products and support services are readily available to end-users and prospective clients within identified target areas.

The SAP empowers individuals in four main ways:

PRODUCT ACCESSIBILITY

Ensures that the appropriate products needed by un-electrified Filipino communities are within their reach.

TECHNICAL TRAINING

Ensures that the SAP members are equipped to extend the necessary services for the satisfaction of their customers.  Also ensure that customers (end-users) are equipped to maintain and maximize the use of SAP products.

FINANCING

Ensures that they can avail of these needed products at reasonable costs, within their financial capacities.

AFTER-SALES SERVICING

Ensures that after-sales support (products and services) are available to the customers, and ensures that the SAP Team is backed up with continuous institutional and training support.

HYBRID VALUE CHAIN

HSSi provides access by assembling Hybrid Value Chains (HVC)...

Which bridge the gaps that separate people and communities from the tools they need to achieve lasting progress. To build hybrid value chains, we implement a combination of commercial and social approaches, putting key elements of the product distribution chain in place nationwide:

  • Innovative designs co-created with end-users

  • Manufacturing for quality and durability

  • Socially-oriented distribution

  • Affordable and responsible financing terms

  • Education in product use of empowerment

  • Continuous and hassle-free technical service

OUR SOLAR HUBS

The Solar Hub is the basic building block of HSSi’s rural operations.  Located in municipalities closest to priority off-grid markets, each Solar Hub has a service territory within which it provides partners and clients with ongoing sales, marketing, logistics, training, and maintenance support. These Hubs are not retail outlets, but focus on reaching markets in remote barangays and sitios in the market cluster. These solar service centers, located in major municipal centers, are composed for a core staff of 4 to 7 people (Solaristas and technicians), a physical office space, and installed and portable solar demonstration units.

ECOSYSTEM PARTNERS

Hybrid Value Chains reach into thousands of electricity-challenged barangays and sitios.  The key participants of a Hybrid Value Chain (HVC) are:

TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS

Who design and manufacture the solar products that HSSi sells.  Our key technology partners are Greenlight Planet (USA), Omnivoltaic (HKG),  Freeplay (UK), Niwa (HKG), Sundaya (Indonesia), Orb (India),  SunTransfer (Germany), Freepump (UK), and PSS Ltd (PNG)

HSSI

Who co-designs and imports the solar products, establishes distribution channels, sells the products to strategic channel partners, institutional clients, and end users who buy directly; provides fulfillment and logistics, and establishes a network of Accredited Technicians for customer service

NETWORK PARTNERS

Such as CSO federations, PEF, and StS, who help with partner identification, partner capacity building, technician training, product development, market awareness and technology adoption, and industry formation

ACCREDITED SOLAR TECHNICIANS
