OUR TECHNOLOGY PARTNERS

static1.squarespace.jpg

These partners design and manufacture the solar products that HSSi sells.  Our key technology partners are Greenlight Planet (USA), Omnivoltaic (HKG),  Freeplay (UK), Niwa (HKG), Sundaya (Indonesia), Orb (India),  SunTransfer (Germany), Freepump (UK), and PSS Ltd (PNG).

Last Mile Value Chain

THE LAST MILE VALUE CHAIN (LMVC) AIMS TO EMPOWER INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES...

By providing them with access to electricity and basic durable consumables through sustained developmental services. The goal is to establish lasting and self-sustaining partnership arrangements with like-minded organizations to ensure that HSSi products and support services are readily available to end-users and prospective clients within identified target areas.

THE SAP EMPOWERS INDIVIDUALS IN FOUR MAIN WAYS:

PRODUCT ACCESS

Ensures that the appropriate products needed by unelectrified Filipino communities are within their reach.

lina and eugene copy.jpg

USER TRAINING

Ensures that the SAP members are equipped to extend the necessary services for the satisfaction of their customers. Also ensure that customers (end-users) are equipped to maintain and maximize the use of SAP products.

AFTER-SALES SERVICES

Ensures that after-sales support (products and services) are available to the customers, and ensures that the SAP Team is backed up with continuous institutional and training support.

ACCREDITED SOLAR TECHNICIANS

Our technicians are trained by HSSi and provide installation and repair/maintenance services at the barangay level.

HYBRID VALUE CHAIN

shaking hands copy.jpg

HSSi PROVIDES ACCESS BY ASSEMBLING HYBRID VALUE CHAINS (HVCs)...

Which bridge the gaps that separate people and communities from the tools they need to achieve lasting progress. To build hybrid value chains, we implement a combination of commercial and social approaches, putting key elements of the product distribution chain in place nationwide:

  • Innovative designs co-created with end-users

  • Manufacturing for quality and durability

  • Socially-oriented distribution

  • Affordable and responsible financing terms

  • Education in product use leads to empowerment

  • Continuous and hassle-free technical service

OUR SOLAR HUBS

The Solar Hub is the basic building block of HSSi’s rural operations.  Located in municipalities closest to priority off-grid markets, each Solar Hub has a service territory within which it provides partners and clients with ongoing sales, marketing, logistics, training, and maintenance support. These Hubs are not retail outlets, but focus on reaching markets in remote barangays and sitios in the market cluster. These solar service centers, located in major municipal centers, are composed for a core staff of 4 to 7 people (Solaristas and technicians), a physical office space, and installed and portable solar demonstration units.

ECOSYSTEM PARTNERS

Hybrid Value Chains reach into thousands of electricity-challenged barangays and sitios.  The key participants of a Hybrid Value Chain (HVC) are:

STRATEGIC CHANNEL PARTNERS

These partners are typically rurally oriented membership organizations like Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), cooperatives, and people’s organizations, who buy the solar products from HSSi under the SAP and resell the products to their members with a loan.

INSTITUTIONAL CLIENTS

These individuals and organizations purchase products from HSSi to donate to calamity survivors, schools and clinics.

IMPACT FUNDS

These organizations provide working capital to technology partners (e.g., Solar Connect), HSSi (e.g., Sunfunder, fairpla.net, Gaia), and channel partners (e.g., PEF, Go Light our World).

NETWORK PARTNERS

These organizations include CSO federations, Peace and Equity Foundation (PEF), and Stiftung Solarenergie Philippines (StS), who help with partner identification, partner capacity building, technician training, product development, market awareness and technology adoption, and industry formation.
